17039343_1350212125046446_3120068810245835271_oAccio Wizardium! We summon all magical creatures to Manitowoc Public Library for our celebration of the Wizarding World on Saturday, April 22nd. Between the hours of 9 AM and 1 PM, an array of enchanting events will be playing themselves out, activities sure to please both Wizard and Muggle in equal proportions—a scavenger hunt throughout our omnium gatherum to retrieve the beasts to create your own fantastical compendium; a photo booth to capture the magic of the moment; a wand creation station for the benefit of personal sorcery applications; a class from a visiting alchemical academician, Professor Veritas, an expert in the field of Scientific Potionology. And what day of wizardry would be complete without a Costume Contest, complete with prizes. To top it all off, our fantastical day will conclude with a screening of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” beginning at 1 PM in the bewitching Balkansky Community Room. It’s a day brimming with so much merriment that you’ll swear someone at MPL invoked “Capacious Extremis!”

MPL will also collect socks in a “Socks for Dobby” sock drive! You can drop off donations of new socks at the library service desk between April 16 and April 22. Socks will be donated to local shelters Hope House and The Haven.
